Itinerary -
Day 01:
Delhi-Corbett National Parks Meals: dinner in Dhikala Drive to Corbett NP from Delhi (6 hours). Drive onward for Dhangarhi gate for entry to Dhikala tourism zone. A great opportunity for viewing wildlife, especially the tiger in its natural habitat. Cross the river at Gethia Rao Bridge for the Kanda Range, where Jim Corbett shot the famous Kanda man-eater. Arrive at the main tourist complex, Dhikala. Dinner and overnight stay. Please note that the accommodation in Dhikala is not luxurious.
Day 02:
Corbett National Park Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner in Dhikala Another day in Dhikala. Full day birding and wildlife viewing. Dinner and overnight stay. Please note that the accommodation in Dhikala is not luxurious.
Day 03:
Corbett National Park-Pangot (Nainital region) Meals: breakfast in Dhikala & dinner in Pangot If you have not done an elephant ride the previous afternoon, you will be taken on an elephant in the morning through the open chaurs (grasslands) and dense forests by an unconventional route. This is the best mode of transport for wildlife viewing. Return for breakfast and then again drive to Tiger Camp for lunch (a safari in itself). Transfer to Pangot in the afternoon visiting Corbett Falls en route for birding. Stopping en route at Dabka causeway to look for ashy crowned sparrow lark. After birding at Corbett Falls continue to Pangot. Arrive for dinner. Overnight stay in a cottage at Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. One can see crested woodpeckers such as greater yellownape, scaly-breasted, speckled piculet etc. Large flocks of slaty-headed parakeets, numerous spotted and oriental turtle doves, grey bushchat, russet sparrow. Cuckoo: indian, oriental, large-hawk and eurasian. Large-billed crow, grey treepie, black-headed jay, maroon oriole, large cuckoo shrike, tits such as rufous-naped, black-throated & yellow-browed and smaller numbers of black-lored and green-backed. White-tailed nuthatches, chestnut bellied nuthatches and bar-tailed treecreeper.
Day 04:
Pangot (Nainital region) Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Another day of birding at Pangot village, Baggar and Gughu Khan. These walks can be very rewarding. Overnight stay at the lodge. One can see crested serpent-eagle, mountain hawk-eagle, Woodpeckers such as brown-fronted, stripe-breasted, rufous-bellied etc. Thrushes such as dark-throated, mistle etc. Striated prinia can be see in the terraced fields. Warblers such as tickell's leaf-warbler, greenish, golden-spectacled, grey-hooded. Flycatchers such as Asian brown, rusty-tailed, ultramarine, verditer, tickell's blue, rufous-bellied Niltava etc., orange-flanked bush robin, blue-capped redstart. Laughingthrushes such as white-throated, striated & streaked, chestnut-crowned etc. Look for accentor, upland pipit, blue-winged minla, whiskered yuhina etc. Overnight stay in Jungle Lore Birding Lodge.
Day 05:
Pangot-Corbett National Park Meals: breakfast in Pangot, lunch & dinner in Tiger Camp Drive back to Corbett NP stopping en route for birding in Mongoli Valley. Afternoon birding in Kumeria. Overnight in a comfortable cottage at Tiger Camp.
Day 06:
Corbett National Park Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Morning safari in Bijrani Range Forest. Stay inside the jungle for an afternoon safari as well. Tiger Camp.
Day 07:
Corbett National Park-Delhi Meals: breakfast in Tiger Camp Morning safari to Sitabani / Jhirna Forest Division (optional). Drive to Delhi after lunch. Arrive in Delhi in the evening. This tour can be customised

Impressive Insight
Dense stands of sal and mixed deciduous forests welcome your visit to Jim Corbett National Park while the grasslands in the valleys offer visitors a better view of the wildlife. Orchids, tropical creepers and bamboo grow on the hills. The best way to view wildlife is by elephant safari. It is possible to travel deep into the park on elephant back and to get very near to wildlife without frightening them away. It provides shelter to Tigers as well as its prey, which include four kinds of Deer, Wild Boar and some lesser-known animals. The most commonly observed wildlife are langur monkeys, rhesus macaques, wild boars, spotted deer, sambar, peacocks and wild elephants. The park is also a birdwatcher's paradise containing over 580 different species of birds.
Jim Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park was established in 1936, as the Hailey National Park. India's first national park and the first sanctuary to come under Project Tiger, Corbett supports a variety of vegetation making it the ideal habitat for the Tiger and its prey.
Once a popular hunting ground of the British, this 201 square mile park was named in honor of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who most of his years in this area and contributed in setting up the this park. With the help of the World Wildlife Fund, Project Tiger was launched in Corbett National Park in 1973 and this park was one of the first such tiger reserves in the country.

Ramnagar : Situated in the rich farm belt of Terai, on the southeastern fringes of the great forests, the busy market town of Ramnagar is the main administrative centre for Corbett National Park and Project Tiger. Ramnagar makes a fishing base camp. At Lohachaur, 15-kms north along the River Kosi, good anglers are in with a chance of landing the legendary Mahseer, a redoubtable battling River Carp
Wildlife Viewing : Chital, Sambar, and various other Deer species find refuge in the Savannah grasslands known as the Maidan, behind the campsite to the south, and Tigers are occasionally drawn in looking for prey. Two hour elephant rides, explore this sea of grass, rarely penetrating far into the deep jungles beyond; try to convince your Mahout or Elephant driver to venture in, as they can be quite magical.
